“God’s timing is the best”, How many times have you heard this phrase? Have you also wondered why everyone seems to be talking about time and how important it is? That’s because it is a key factor in man’s life. The right action done at the wrong time has little or no impact compared to when done at the right time. So what’s time?

Meaning Of Time:

In simple words, time is the ongoing sequence of events taking place (the past, present, and future). The basic unit of time is in seconds and we measure it with a clock (some of y” all use watches or just your phones 🙂 )

What’s The Importance Of Time

Time is money but unlike physical cash when lost cannot be gained. Thus, knowing its importance is of great benefit especially as believers and Christian youths.

• Time helps us plan and strategize (1st chronicles 12:32)
• Time helps us to know what to do in different seasons
• The effective use of time helps us build ourselves and become more productive
• most importantly time act as a reminder, always reminding us that we are mortals created by God and someday we will give an account of our life here on earth

What Does The Bible Say About Time

There is a time for everything,
 and a season for every activity under the heavens:

  a time to be born and a time to die,
  a time to plant and a time to uproot,
 a time to kill and a time to heal,
 a time to tear down and a time to build,
 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
 a time to mourn and a time to dance,
 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
 a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
 a time to search and a time to give up,
 a time to keep and a time to throw away,
 a time to tear and a time to mend,
 a time to be silent and a time to speak,
  a time to love and a time to hate,
  a time for war and a time for peace.

From the above passage, we understand that time dictates activities(time to cry, time to laugh etc) and everything we do on earth is built on this foundation. A wise man is one who knows what to do, when to do it and how to do it.

What is God’s Timing?

Permit me to firstly establish the fact that God is timeless, He doesn’t exist in space or time. He created time therefore He is not limited by it. However, He deals with His creation in time.

For this is what the high and exalted One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
“I live in a high and holy place
Isaiah 57:15 New International Version (NIV)

Also, our perception of time is not God’s own perception.

 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
    neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
    so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9 New International Version (NIV)

 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. ( 2 Peter 3:8 New International Version (NIV)

To answer our question, God’s timing is the appointed duration He has set for something/an event to unfold. This time is different from ours and not knowing this fact can lead to worry and doubt especially in the season of waiting( Psalm 102:13, Ecclesiastes 3:11, Habakkuk 2:3)

5 Reasons Why God’s Timing Is Beutiful

God’s timing is the best and there is beauty in it. God is never too slow nor too fast. He is always on time. Coming to the full realization of this will give you rest and peace of mind. No matter the season you are in when you trust God’s timing He will:

1. Direct you(Psalm 37:23):

When we wait on God in regards to a certain situation, He shows up at the right time and tells us what to do. Nothing is as important as the divine direction in the life of a believer, a lot of mistakes can be avoided.

2. Enables you to enjoy every moment of today(proverbs 27:1)

There was a point in my life when I worried about my future. What’s next, what do I do, what if things don’t go as planned, etc. It was such a heavy burden on me. I was so focused on my tomorrow that I forgot to live today. Don’t get me wrong, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with making plans for tomorrow. However live today, enjoy every moment and trust in God’s timing.

The smallest family will become a large family group. The smallest tribe will become a powerful nation. When the time is right, I, the Lord, will come quickly. I will make these things happen.”
Isaiah 60:22

3. Gives you a future and a hope(Jeremiah 29:11)

Most times when God is making us wait it’s because He has something bigger and better in-store. The waiting period is Him simply preparing us for the amazing future He has for us. God’s plans for you are good and perfect and He desires you to have the best. Waiting on God’s timing will enable you to see the goodness of God.

4. Gives you strength(Isiah 40:28-31)

I will be lying if I say waiting on God’s timing is easy, no it’s not! It requires a lot of patience and zeal to keep on waiting with the right attitude. Regardless of the difficulty in waiting, you are never alone. God is always by you, strengthening you to hold on. When we wait on God, He strengthens us and builds in us great capacities.

5. He will reward you(Galatians 6:9)

Paul was writing to the believers in the book of Galatians 6;9 encouraging them not to give up on doing good, in due time God will reward them. We know that with God, the ending is always beautiful. When we patiently wait on God we know for sure that He will reward us.

Satan sometimes tries to change time because he knows if a set time is changed,then visions,dreams,and supernatural conceptions will be aborted(Daniel 7:25)

Why Do We Miss Out On God’s Timing?

Because of our impatient nature, sometimes we rush and we tend to miss out on God’s timing. This can be a bad thing because we might go out of His will and neglect Grace and when the ”’ NOW”’ of God is in motion we won’t know(2 corinthians 6:2)

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of life. Thank you for giving me time. I pray that you will help me to be sensitive in my spirit so that I may know what you are saying at a particular time. Give me the grace to use my time wisely. This I ask in Jesus’ name…AMEN!
