HOW I PRAY ISAIAH 49||Praying Scripture

praying Isaiah 49

I was going through my journal and I saw this prayer which I wrote on the 6th of February, 2020. This was a scripture my mum had sent me. However, before diving into the prayer, I just want to share few things I learned from this scripture passage and how I personalized it.

Four(4) Things I Learned From Isaiah 49(NIV)

  • God doesn’t forget His own(verse 15&16)
  • Those who hope in Him will never be disappointed
  • we are polished arrows in His hands and we are concealed in His quiver(verse 2)
  • We are lights for the Gentiles(those who are yet to come to Christ-verse 6)

How To Pray Isaiah 49(NIV)

Praying Scripture is a great way to pray. One way to do so is to personalize a scripture by putting the article “I” to refer to yourself. If you are praying for someone else insert their names. You can also write it down in a journal if you can’t memorize it.

Praying Isaiah 49

Dear Father,

I thank you for the gift of life. Thank you for stepping out of yourself and taking on the form of man, you walked the earth and felt every pain I am feeling or would be feeling, and still, you died for me. Thank you for washing my sins and giving me the Holy Spirit.

Dear Abba, according to your word in Isaiah 49 you have made mention of my name even before I was born. My mouth have you sharpen like a sword. You have hidden me in the shadow of your hand. I am your servant and you have displayed your splendour in me.

I am honoured in your eyes and you have been my strength. You -oh Great One-have made me a light for the gentiles(those who don’t know Christ) that I may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.

kings will see me and rise up, princes will see me and bow, because of the Lord who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen me. Father, you will answer me in the time of your favour and in the day of salvation, you will help me.

The lover of my soul, lifter of my hands and my first love, thank you for keeping my family and me safe. Thank you for choosing us to restore lands and reassign their desolate inheritances. Thank you because my family and I will never go hungry or thirst. We won’t be beaten by the desert wind or sun.

Abba-our father that has compassion on us, you will guide and lead us beside springs of water. You will turn all our mountains into roads and our highways will be raised up. We will shout for joy and be happy because You are our comforter.

We have this assurance that you will never forget us for you have engraved us on the back of your palms and our walls are ever before you. Surely as you live we will see your goodness in the land of the living. You will keep the devourer away from us. You will bless us as a family with all spiritual, financial, academic, and emotional blessings and we will say “this place is too small for us” because the capacity of the blessing will amaze us.

In the land we live in, the citizens will favour us. As we put our hopes and trust in you we won’t be disappointed. Contend with those who will contend with us and we will hold our peace. let all mankind know that you, the creator of heaven and earth, is our saviour and redeemer. This I pray in Jesus’ name

AMEN!

Scriptural prayers are basically putting GOD’s word back to Him and He honors His word more than anything (ISAIAH 55:11).
Great piece ma, brief but impact full, more wisdom. Amen.
