FAVOURITE BIBLE VERSE|My Top 6 All-Time Favourite.

Favorite bible verse

I don’t know about you but the biscuits and sweets shared in the children’s church were one of the reasons I loved Sunday school. Apart from that, Sunday school was also the place where I got to learn most of the verses I know. In today’s post, I share six out of the many verses that have impacted my life or reminded me of something. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when creating this list. Here are six of my favourite bible verse

“The beauty of Christianity is how the Holy Spirit interprets a verse to different believers in different locations going through different situations”

1.JOHN 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The first on my list is John 3:16. This is my most favourite bible verse. If you attended the children’s church you would agree with me that this was the first verse we were taught. The young me would recite this verse proudly with little knowledge of what it truly meant. Over the years I have come to understand that this particular verse is the basic foundation of Christianity. This verse explains the love of God. A love so deep that made Him step out of himself, put on the flesh of man, walked the earth, felt and experienced every human emotion and, died for man with the main aim of reconciling man back to himself. How amazing is that!

2. MATTHEW 6:25

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Isn’t it funny how we worry about things we have little or no control over? In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus is commanding us not to worry. whenever I’m faced with difficulties, I ponder on these words. I wrote a post in regards to worry, you can read it here: 5 simple tips to help you stop worrying

3. 1 CORINTHIANS 2:9

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”[a]
the things God has prepared for those who love him

This verse is like the motto of this blog☺. It resounds the fact that God has big plans in store for me and you. The things he has in store for us will blow the mind of men. All we need do is love Him with our ALL and He will reveal these plans to us. These plans might be hidden to others but to us, it is being revealed through the Holy Spirit(from verse 10-12)

4. PHILIPPIANS 1:6

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Are you working on an idea God gave you but you’re feeling discouraged? I can totally relate! However, remind yourself daily that God will not start anything through you that he won’t finish. The good works he has began in you, he will complete it until the day of Christ.

5. 2 CORINTHIANS 12:7(b)-10

……Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

In the face of trials, in our moments of weakness, when we are being tormented, in our times of distress–his grace is available. He might not take away the pain but he will give us the strength to endure.

6. PHILIPPIANS 2:13

for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose.

Although it’s every believer’s duty to live a life of total submission to God’s will, God knows we can’t do it on our own. That’s why he gave us the Holy Spirit to enable us to desire and achieve his purpose.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Feel free to share your favorite verse in the comment section below.

God bless you!
