AFRO GOSPEL SENSATION, FRANCIS LANS BREAKS THE SILENCE WITH NEW SINGLE FEATURING ONE OF THE EARLY SHAKERS OF THE GAMBIAN GOSPEL INDUSTRY.
Urban contemporary gospel sensation, Francis Lans, today releases a new single, “NORMALIZE THIS” featuring one of the first and brightest rap and dancehall artiste in The Gambian gospel scene, Jah Cofap. The new song is available on audiomack and YouTube.
Normalize This comes with a chilly afro dancehall vibe with an easy to catch chorus that has the power to drag you through the song without your notice. The song is inspired by Psalm 100:4“ Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name”.“My producer sent me the beat and the first verse that came to my mind was connected to Psalm 100:4” Francis said.
“Normalize This” generally calls us to praise God always and be thankful to him no matter the circumstances we face. It says ‘Despite the storms, ar go normalize this, all the pains, all the rage, gi you proper praises’. This is to say, our praise and gratefulness to God would be unconditional and not based on circumstances”. He said.
Francis Lansana was born and raised in The Gambia and was schooled in Saint Peter’s, Lamin, from primary to Senior Secondary.He studied journalism and communication at the Media Academy for Journalism and Communication(MAJaC). He is also a Video Director and editor with a wealth of experience, serving The Gambian Catholic Church from 2015 to 2019.
He started off in 2016 with a group called “The Light” and later answered his calling to pursue solo after the group was dissolved.
Lans has a very peculiar style of blending English, Aku, and Wollof in his raps. This has helped him to quickly turn a lot of attention to his music with several notable singles such as“Blessings Rain” which has enjoyed maximum airplay on most gospel platforms, “Jaam’u Gambia” with one of Gamgospel’s finest voices, Harry Nicol among others. Performing on almost all of the major gospel concerts in the Gambia, from Shabak, Gam Gospel Festival, Wave Plus Gospel awards night among others.
He has shared the stage with great gospel names like Steve Crown(Nigeria), Arnold K. Fofanah (Sierra Leone), Judah Zubairu (Sierra Leone), Bernard Cissa (Senegal), and a lot of the household names in the Gambia gospel scene.
He cohosts the DTD Concert that is held every October.
He is also a cofounder of OTC music, a brand that is established with a long term aim of turning to a gospel record label.
