A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT(psalms 93)

A word of encouragement fromPsalm 93

A word of encouragement: Last week was very exhausting for me. It was filled with so many uncertainties and mixed feelings. I realized that 2020 with all its happenings can drain the life out of you. I log in to social media and all I see is bad news. From killing to police brutality to rape to racism, you name it. These injustices and trouble can affect one’s mental health.
During the week while having my personal devotion, I stumbled upon Psalms 93.

The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved.2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.3 The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.4 The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, forever.

let’s look at verses 3 and 4, these verses describe exactly what’s going on:

The floods of fear, anxiety and depression. The floods of social injustice. All these floods have lifted up their voices.
This is a very scary fact but verse 4 is a much bigger fact too.
It says the Lord is mightier than the noise of many waters. The Bible tells us that all these things we see and hear are nothing but noise.

In the midst of all that’s happening, God is mightier, so there’s no need to fear.
I am encouraging you today to fix your gaze on Jesus. Like Peter the moment we remove our eyes from him, we begin to sink.
This is A word of encouragement I have for you today. So as you go through this week please be reminded of Psalm 93:4.

Have a blessed weekend.

A word of encouragement

Yes ma’am our GOD reigns in the midst of the flood.

  2. Amen! This year has been so exhausting, so traumatic, so heavy, yet we can look to God for hope in the midst of it.

This is a blessed assurance, Sarah. Knowing we have a father that cares is a blessing.
